The Well-being in Education Award

Criteria

This award seeks to acknowledge the leading Scottish school that prioritises the well-being of pupils and staff, and successfully fuses the link between a positive educational environment and first-class foodservice. In encouraging individuals to lead healthier lives, the winning establishment will offer a variety of measures and initiatives to help recognise, address and counter the effects of potential mental health issues among the entire school community.

– ALL text boxes must be completed. If a certain requirement is not applicable, please indicate “N/A” in the respective box.
– Only links to the entrant’s own website will be counted. No third party web links are permitted.

An outline of the school’s approach to the prioritisation of the well-being of pupils and staff, both prior to and since the COVID-19 pandemic.

A description of the measures the school takes to recognise, approach and monitor the signs of potential well-being and mental health issues within pupils and staff.

An outline of how your school has utilised a combination of healthy food and regular exercise to improve well-being and productivity among staff and pupils.

Specific examples of any collaborations between staff and pupils in identifying and addressing potential instances of isolation, bullying, loneliness or depression among pupils.

Specific examples of policies, ideas and innovations that have directly contributed to a healthier learning environment for staff and pupils. Examples may include one-off campaigns, long-term initiatives and deliberate changes in the culture of the school itself.

Measurable evidence of how effectively these measures have improved general well-being across the school community. Examples may include survey findings, anonymous pupil or teacher testimonials, and Happiness Index results.
